Inspire & Achieve is based upon the conviction that an education is essential to a healthy society. Our vision is to ensure higher education continues to be a catalyst for positive change and a force that can transform the lives of individuals and families while advancing the economic and civic health of societies.

On Thursday May 12, 2016, LogiCore Corporation, a technology services and solutions company, located in Huntsville, AL, hosted its Spring Awards & Recognition Program and Open House for its employees. As part of this awards celebration, also recognized were twenty Inspire & Achieve Student Scholarship and Grant awardees.

Of the over 40 entries submitted by local area students in Madison, Morgan, Lawrence and Limestone counties in 2016, twelve were awarded the prestigious Miranda Bouldin STEM Scholarship and eight received Scholarship Grants.

The Miranda Bouldin STEM Scholarship is designed to encourage students to pursue study in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) while attending a 4-year Alabama college or university, and upon graduation, use that knowledge in support of the Defense Industry.

Matthew Black
Athens High School
Auburn University

Matthew Black is a graduate of Athens High School who will be attending Auburn University in the fall to study engineering.  He is described by teachers as having a natural aptitude for math and science as well as the practical applications of those subjects.  Matthew was also actively involved in many extracurricular activities including Beta Club, Athens High School Marching Band, and community service activities.



Rebekah Cheatham
Bob Jones High School
University of Southern Alabama

Rebekah Cheatham is a graduate of Bob Jones High School and will attend the University of South Alabama in the fall to study meteorology.  She was an active member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Bob Jones Color Guard, and First-Chair Flute Player.  Rebekah was involved in all of these extracurricular activities while managing to maintain a 4.52 GPA.



Lila Cook
Lawrence County High School
University of Alabama in HSV

Lila Cook is a graduate of Lawrence County High School and will attend the University of Alabama in Huntsville to study engineering.  She was a member of the Lawrence County High School Team who received national recognition on a STEM project.  Additionally, Lila was a member of National Honor Society and is an active member of her church.  Lila is described by teachers and peers as being intelligent, polite, kind, and tenacious.



Andrew Cooper
Danville High School
Auburn University

Andrew (Drew) Cooper is a graduate of Danville High School who will be attending Auburn University to study engineering. He served as president of the Danville High School Science Club, on student council, and a member of Future Farmers of America.  Drew is described by teachers as a “model citizen”.



Alex Dillon
Bob Jones High School
University of Alabama in HSV

Alex Dillon is a graduate of Bob Jones High School who will be attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville to study engineering.  He served as team captain on Bob Jones’ computer science team as well as being an active member of National Honor Society and Bob Jones Ambassadors.  Outside of school, Alex volunteers as a local church thrift store.  During his last semester of high school, Alex was a Computer Science Senior Pathways student—a course for high-achieving students who wish to continue their computer science studies in college.



Jeffrey Davis Earley
Decatur High School
Auburn University

Davis Earley is a graduate of Decatur High School and will attend Auburn University to study engineering in the fall.  He successfully completed seven Advanced Placement courses during his high school career. Additionally, he served as Head of Engineering on the Decatur Austin Robotics Coalition (DARC) Team.  Davis also was a member of National Honor Society, Technology Students of America (TSA), JV and varsity football, varsity wrestling, and a Student Government Association (SGA) Delegate.



Callie Giles
Hazel Green High School
Auburn University

Callie Giles is a graduate of Hazel Green High School who will be attending Auburn University in the fall to study biomedical science.  She is described by teachers as “an outstanding student with strong leadership skills” and “a superior student with strong character”.  Callie was a member of National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Trojan Ambassadors, and Students Taking a New Direction Under Pressure (STAND UP).  She also volunteers with the Special Olympics, Kairos Prison Ministry, church youth group, and serves as a recreational league volleyball coach.



Elijah Jackson
West Limestone High School
Auburn University

Elijah Jackson is a graduate of West Limestone High School who will be attending Auburn University in the fall to study chemical engineering.  He is a four-year Beta Club member, four-year recipient of the President’s Education Awards Program for Outstanding Academic Excellence, six-year member of the Limestone County Gifted Program, member of the 30+ ACT Club, and ranks among the top in his class.  He was also a leader on West Limestone’s cross country team and is described by his coach as being “the hardest worker on our team and never gives less than his best effort.”



Lillie McCullough
Lawrence County High School
University of Alabama

Lillie McCullough is a graduate of Lawrence County High School who will attend the University of Alabama to study engineering. She is described as a leader among her peers who can always be depended upon for assistance with projects, ideas, and other school activities.  Lila’s extracurricular activities include cheerleading and the pilot program for one of the first AP computer science principles courses in the United States.



Quan Nguyen
Bob Jones High School
University of Alabama in HSV

Quan is a graduate of Bob Jones High School who will be attending the University of Alabama in High School to study computer science.  He is described as not only having an aptitude for STEM studies, but also as being an exceptional writer.  He was also a member of the AFA CyberPatriot team which focused on competing nationally against other teams to identify and correct vulnerabilities in various computer systems.



Jabari Robinson
Sparkman High School
University of Southern Alabama

Jabari Robinson is a graduate of Sparkman High School who will attend the University of South Alabama to study biomedical science.  He excelled in the classroom as well as in athletics and was voted as a city councilman by his peers at the 2-15b Alabama Boys State Conference.  Jabari led Sparkman High School’s Debate Team to a second place finish in the 2015 state competition.  He is described by teachers as being “intelligent, considerate, and genuinely pleasing to be around.”



Samuel Watson
Hazel Green High School
University of Alabama

Samuel Watson is a graduate of Hazel Green High School and will attend the University of Alabama to study computer science. He was a member of the VEX robotics class at Hazel Green High School and is described as being “the most dedicated student” who “showed perseverance and tenacity through his willingness to stay after school to work on his robot”.  Samuel and his team were chosen to receive the Judge’s Award at the Alabama State Robotics Championship.


In addition to the Miranda Bouldin STEM Scholarship winners, Miranda Bouldin STEM Scholarship Grants were also awarded to the following students:
