Press Release – The 2014 Miranda Bouldin STEM Scholarship Essay Contest Underway!

Huntsville, AL — The Miranda Bouldin STEM Scholarship is designed to encourage students to pursue study in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and, upon graduation, use that knowledge in support of the Defense Industry.

The Inspire & Achieve Corporation will award scholarships to qualifying high school seniors in Madison, Morgan, Lawrence and Limestone counties who have been accepted to a college or university. Applicants will compete for $1,500 scholarships and a laptop computer by writing an essay which will be evaluated by a panel of technical subject matter experts within the Defense Industry.

Applicants may select from the following Essay Topics:

  • Should Unmanned vehicles and Robots be used in US Defense Operations?
  • Should the Department of Defense use Cloud Computing?
  • What is the current principal threat to US sovereignty?

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2014-2015 academic calendar year. All essay submissions must be postmarked by March 21, 2014. Scholarship award recipients will be notified by April 18, 2014.
